Where Your Treasure Is David A Staff

Our Lord and Savior Knows Us... He knows we struggle swimming in a culture which frequently trumpets experiencing what it calls "the good life." It encourages relentless spending on yourself, on current pleasures, on feeding what the Scripture identifies as our "flesh." The wisdom from below urges investing here, and mostly for self, despite both Scriptural (and sometimes market) warnings that thieves can break in and steal our assets, that moth and rust quickly corrupts the diminishing value of our possessions. Our heart follows where we place our treasure. Invest treasure here on earth, and our hearts will be earth-bound, self-focused. Invest treasure in eternal causes, and in people generously, and our hearts will be found pulsating with the life of God's kingdom, anticipating eternity. Where is your treasure? Where are you investing the treasure that God (who gives us everything) gives you?This devotional reader seeks to encourage a holy, generous stewardship habit of investing in eternal endeavors, in keeping with our mission to "connect people to life-defining relationships in Christ."
