Recorded live at Radio Studio Zurich on 19 February 1968, 'Bird Food' predates 'Santana' -- long considered the trio's debut -- by nearly seven months. Found in Pierre Favre's archive by Favre and Samuel Blaser, it captures Favre, Irène Schweizer, and bassist Jiří Mráz (later George Mraz) in fiery, attentive free jazz: Ornette Coleman's title track plus three Schweizer originals.
