Rosina
Samuel Blaser
On Rosina, trombonist Samuel Blaser reconnects with the Italian roots he never knew -- named for the grandmother he never met. Drawing on Alan Lomax's Italian field recordings and his own family history, Blaser and his quartet (Russ Lossing, Masa Kamaguchi, Billy Mintz) blend traditional Emilia-Romagna melodies with five original compositions into his most personal album to date.
