On 15 November 1957, a quintet that rarely played together went into the studio, led by pianist Red Garland, to record material for two LPs. The first side of the production includes the 20-minute title track 'All Mornin' Long' and the lighthearted numbers 'They Can't Take That Away from Me' and 'Our Delight'.

The line-up was stellar. Red Garland and saxophonist John Coltrane knew each other from the Miles Davis Quintet. Drummer Arthur Taylor was a former member of the Red Garland Trio and trumpeter Donald Byrd had played with all of them. Bassist George Joyner completed the quintet.

The analogue mono recordings were made by the legendary Rudy van Gelder.

The hybrid mono SACD appears in a mini-LP sleeve as part of a series of 50 reissues from the legendary Prestige label. There will be 25 mono and 25 stereo recordings. The mastering was done by Kevin Gray at his Cohearent Audio Studios.

We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
