"Diamonds" is the second in a series of albums featuring previously unheard recordings by Waylon Jennings that his son, Shooter Jennings, recently unearthed. Compared to the previous installment, "Songbird", it is a higher-energy album — a "younger man's" record — with songs that explore the rollercoaster of relationships and unrequited love.

Shooter shared the first collection of newly discovered recordings in 2025 with the album, "Songbird", which was met with widespread acclaim from publications including The New York Times, The Tennessean, Rolling Stone, Consequence, Billboard, Stereogum, Variety, American Songwriter, Parade, Whiskey Riff, Holler Country and many more.
