Genesis is more than a little paranoid. When the aliens show up on Earth's doorstep, she's positive there's more going on than meets the eye. Estranged from her family of doomsday preppers, she wants to finally put to work all the knowledge they forced upon her. Applying for a job with the Alien Diplomatic Corps was a long shot, but she was chosen out of millions. Shocker of shockers, she quickly finds out that she was right. The aliens did want something from them, but it was nothing she could have ever imagined, not in her wildest dreams. Raised by a loving Maree family on the planet of Eorus, Juini is married to the man of his dreams, and his personal life couldn't be better. His work life, however, is another story. Stuck in a career that he doesn't like, with no hope of ever doing anything else, his new promotion was supposed to change all of that. Except, of course, it doesn't, and that's just the beginning of his problems. Working together is not something that comes naturally for either of them, and it's going to be a long journey through space before that changes.
