Fear and loathing and laughter and longing, despair and hope and anxiety and jubilation. Sometimes words help us bring order to the chaos of the churning well of emotions for which we need an outlet. Other times when that well is empty, they give us inspiration and motivation. Regardless of what you come to these words looking for, these poems are written to help tap into our deepest emotions and inner thoughts, flavor them richly and set them in perspective to the rest of life's feast- the brussel sprouts along with the filet mignon and crème brûlée. These poems are written in a variety of styles, some sounding like Shakespeare, others rap, others country songs, and others like Frank Sinatra. They're similarly on a diverse and wide range of topics (love, loss, lynching, lilac trees, space, etc.) and they may lead you to do a Google search or two on marine animals, mythic creatures, foreign phrases, Biblical references, anime references, and many other kinds of trivia. I like to think that in this collection there is something for everyone to strongly like, and something for everyone to strongly dislike. I hope they are thought provoking, and help you gain clarity and on at least a couple aspects of the tumult of life.
