The day began like any other average day. Our lives were as we'd always known them to be, as we busied ourselves safe and secure in our confidence that it would all continue. Then, a tremendous explosion in the night set in motion a chain of events that would forever change our view of life and our place in nature. The very foundation of modern society was swept away from beneath our feet, revealing an apocalyptic world of hysteria, desperation, despair, and chaos that gradually destroyed all the glittering wealth and technological sophistication of the society we had built. Yet, from all the desolation, at least one family survives and prospers, having learned from the mistakes made by so many people who dared to imagine themselves as masters of the natural world that sustained them. Join David as he recounts the story of the great cataclysm and the subsequent changes it caused that restored nature's true dominion over humanity and reminded us of how we should live within it.
