In 2023, America is in chaos with violent protests caused by the public's widespread belief that their elected officials no longer represent their interests. Most citizens feel a diminished quality of life and feel unsafe even in their own homes. Officials seem helpless to combat the exploding rage that cause the hundreds of deaths mounting each week across the country. A political science professor has a theory that he believes will quell the chaos. When he's approached by a mysterious employer to test his academic idea in the real world and fulfill a long-held dream, he accepts. His wife and adult daughter oppose his decision to entangle himself with someone with questionable motives and angrily leave him. Fearful of losing political power, the President and congress resist his attempt to make his theory the law of the land. To coerce them to go along, he compromises his ethics and threatens to make public a secret U. S. Treasury report predicting the eminent bankruptcy of the United States caused by the country's unsustainable national debt. His decision to pursue his dream begins a series of events that throws his life and the country into a precarious downward spiral. Before long the professor learns that his new job is financed by embezzled funds and that his boss must be stopped at all costs. Dystopia 2024 is a novel about a conflicted man's ambition for wealth and celebrity that destroys his personal relationships and threatens the very foundations of American democracy.
