Aegis is a fictional book on the lives of five friends, set in Nigeria's most popular city - Lagos, narrated in four parts by three out of five of these women and at the very core, talks of the different challenges women face in a Nigerian society. Aegis talks about sisterhood, friendship and the bond between these women and how they are able to overcome their challenges together and help more women in their society. It is a story that cuts across different parts of the Nigerian society and subtly educates on various topics ranging from Marital abuse, Inheritance laws, Gender based violence, Rape, Marriage dynamics, Emotional labor, Prostitution, Women's rights, Homophobia, Infertility, Adoption, Surrogacy and societal pressure on women to settle down. Although Aegis is absolutely fictional, the lives of the characters are the daily realities of everyday Nigerian women.
