In this comic novel, Brother Boudreaux, a 24-year-old monk-in-training is put on probation for not following the rules of the Abbey. He is given a three-month "time-out" to pray and reflect upon his religious calling and thereby decide whether or not he wishes to continue on a formal spiritual path. No specific location is demanded of him to accomplish this. So this rule-breaking young man chooses to pray and reflect in his own way, and to do so 24-7 in the French Quarter, New Orleans, the city known as "The Big Easy." There he meets some of the biggest rule breakers in human history who never left town, and are eager to mentor this very willing young man. And so the Quarter, known in French as the Vieux Carre, provides the backdrop for his unconventional pilgrimage, one that turns out to be Not So Big, Not So Easy. Don Beaudreau is a retired Unitarian minister who lives in Chapala, MX and is a direct descendant of early French fur traders who sailed down the Mississippi from Canada and founded Mobile, Alabama. Some of them made it through the swamps to New Orleans, and one of them was executed in front of St. Louis Cathedral for breaking the rules. Apparently, bad-boy blood runs in the family. This is the author's 7th book, all of which are available on Amazon.com in both Kindle and paperback editions.
