Crystals are creatures that live in the deepest parts of the darkest forests. The size of grains of sand, they see the world very different than the rest of us, and have enemies that most of us never even notice. Max, an Extended Hunter, is a Crystal of action, of adventure, patrolling the edge of the forest, crossing the river atop leaves, riding his loyal mount, and trusted friend, Biter ( a flea.) During one of his missions, Max encounters a nightmare...a Brownie, and must test all of his skills, and above all, trust on luck to survive, to rescue his kin...to save beautiful Crystlets from a fate worse than death. He must save them from being turned to gold.
