The mental arousal of the average African mind against the predominant male power-play in the African society has now reached its peak as divergence of views are now being expressed on a regular basis both locally and internationally on the need for gender equality and gender balancein every society thereby creatung opportunities for both sexes to participate in sustainable development. This State of affairs, it must be noted, is not exclusive to Africa only. there is now a universal move across the Globe to tacklr this social disequilibrium headlong in other to provide a socially balanced society where the equation would be; Man = Woman and vice versa. Thus, the former Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Koffi Anan noted simply that for the world (especially the third world Nations) to achieve the set millenium development Goals, it must ensure that all parties enjoy equal opportunities and participate actively in the local polity.
