Performance Analysis of Roof Top Salt Gradient Solar Pond: Solar Energy Store Through Solar Pond
Dr.g.d. Agarwal
Over the last few years the use of solar energy has increased exponentially, but the problem of solar energy collection and thermal storage has arise and for this A solar pond is a simple and low cost solar energy system which collects solar radiation and stores it as a thermal energy in the same medium for a long period of time. For this reason, solar pond attracts the interest of researcher in this subject more than some other alternative solar energy system. In these ponds, saline is stored in three layers i.e. UCZ, NCZ and LCZ increasing in density. Thermal energy collected in LCZ can be utilized in various applications. Objective of the study was to design, carried out a detailed and then analyze salt gradient roof top solar pond. Effect of solar pond depth and salinity of brine solution on the temperature distribution of the pond were determined experimentally. The maximum temperature attained in the storage zone was approximately 41.7 Celsius. Cheaper and locally available construction and insulation material were use in our study. Our experimental setup studier and meant to run for years. All these comparisons have prove that our results and study are better than others.
