Yield Maximization in Groundnut Through Lignite Fly Ash Application D. Elavazhagan
Yield Maximization in Groundnut Through Lignite Fly Ash Application
D. Elavazhagan
The present work was aimed to evaluate the effects of graded levels of lignite flyash (LFA) application in groundnut. The results of the field experiment revealed that among the various graded levels of LFA evaluated, the treatment combined application of LFA @ 10 t ha-1 + pressmud @ 12 5 t ha-1 + RDF (T7) was highly suitable in terms of their ideal physico-chemical characteristics, the magnitude of nutrient contents and their availability to groundnut and it was found to improve the growth, yield attributes, pod and haulm yield and oil content of groundnut for both the seasons. Addition of LFA @ 10 t ha-1 + Pressmud @ 12.5 t ha-1 + RDF recorded the highest plant height of 30.60, 40.20 and 51.60 cm at 30, 60 and at harvest during Rabi and it was significantly superior to that of addition of LFA @ 5 t ha-1 + Pressmud @ 12.5 t ha-1 + RDF. The same trend was followed in summer also. Combined application of LFA with pressmud or FYM greatly influenced the yield and yield parameters for Rabi and summer seasons rather than sole application of LFA in groundnut.
