The fate of teachers in areas of war is left to themselves; the problems they encounter in their professional activities are not easily noticed by the public. Consequently they become ineffective. As professionals, teachers in most cases remain committed to their profession and continue teaching in spite of the fighting. However, apart from poor living conditions such as accommodation and other public services noticeable to the public, it is hard for people to notice the problems pertinent to their professional activities. How do they manage lesson preparation and getting teaching facilities? How do they conduct classroom teaching, supervision, and learning assessment/evaluation normally? This book is about Northern Uganda insurgency on the effectiveness of secondary school teachers' teaching and supervision. It is targeting Northern Uganda, Gulu District and Gulu Municipality in particular, an area that has seen war for more than twenty years. The book has a genuine problem to present to the public.
