Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Kunst - Fotografie und Film, Note: 2, Fachhochschule Salzburg (MultiMediaArt), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: ?Real Farmers" is a documentary about today's farmers, focusing on their needs and the inevitable collision of their expectations with economical and political realities. The accompanying thesis primarily provides an overview of relevant aspects in the fields of social research and theory of documentary film. Additionally an introduction to the history of agriculture is given, which also includes the main thesae of Prof. Girtler. Due we made the film in cooperation with Roland Girtler, an Austrian sociologist, the main approach was the exploration of the possible interactions between social research and production of documentary films. In the latter part of this thesis I will discuss my practical experiences by listing the consecutive elements of this film production with the related socio-documentary aspects.
