This book deals with the topic of traditional burial rites from several angles such anthropological, psychological and religious. It takes the position that these rituals have direct parallels with current psychological and religious practices and that more should be done to integrate them into modern day counseling practices. It is a research into the therapeutic aspect of the mourning ritual performed by the Tonga people of Zambia. It avails approaches to understanding how indigenous communities cope with death.
