Sweetwater Basin begins in the early 1900's when a young woman teacher from New York inherits a Cattle Ranch in the wild west of Wyoming. Her first encounter is with outlaws in the middle of a shootout. Teacher, Iris Cage without concern of her own safety intervenes in the ruckus and saves the single man being attacked. The single man she saves from his attackers turns out to be the outlaw that the men were trying to kill. The young woman falls in love with the outlaw, finds out the truth behind his actions, and get a grand surprise from her own Ranch hands of her new Ranch.
