We only have one life, right? Wrong. And that is something that Tony, a disillusioned, comical and rather selfish 30-year-old journalist learns for himself during the course of this novel. In so doing, his seemingly pointless existence is infused with a deeper meaning. A fateful encounter with the ghost of a friend from a previous life leads him to rejoin the battle against a global criminal organization: the 'Thugs'. Since being almost destroyed by the British in India back in the 1830s, the Thugs have spread their criminal cult across the planet.
