Alex is a young pastor who begins his own ministry at a church following a popular pastor. There is a struggle to gainrecognition. He is a talented pianist who meets a woman who plays cello. An interest begins and after a struggle they aremarried. Not long after the marriage, a difficult situation gets the pastor charged with murder. In prison, he is put into a cellwith a black man who befriends him. There are a variety of events that test Alex. His influence spreads.
