Se-se was a farmer's child who dreamed of becoming an officer in the Imperial Army before being told she was Crown Princess Elisia of Esterria, heir to the throne of a great Empire spanning hundreds of planets and trillions of people. When her father was critically injured during an attack by Republican terrorists, Se-se had no choice but to sit on the throne and assume control. The Republicans are poised to take advantage of the young and inexperienced ruler on the throne, to convince the planetary rulers to break away from the Empire they only need to push her over the edge. Assassination attempts have failed, the Imperial Guards are too good at defending their masters, but perhaps there is no need to kill the Princess to get their way. Perhaps what they really need is to find a way to turn her strengths against her and let the Princess destabilise her own Empire. Se-se's greatest strength is her friends, fellow survivors of the Jacob 6 massacre who are just learning to feel safe again, but relying on them so much puts them in danger. The Republicans have a new target and they are not ready to give in.
