The Paradoxical Life is a contemporary commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, a mystical text from the Vedic Scriptures. The 'Gita's subject matter is nothing less than the Mystery of Life and Death. It is both a philosophical and yet practical account of the text which can be applied to the modern-day existential crisis of our anxious and stressful lives. The book attempts to avoid academic jargon whilst maintaining and exploring the depth and beauty of this ancient epic poem to make it suitable and accessible to the modern reader, regardless of any religious affiliation. This work, which began as a calligraphic project (and is partially set out as such) aims to show that what the Bhagavad Gita was pointing to 2400 years ago is relevant to the spiritual and secular seeker as its message concerns the truth of human identity and essential being: What are we, how do we discover this and what does it mean for our everyday lives?
