Why would Christians today want to take a close look at the Confession of 1967 put forth by the Presbyterian Church? The answer to that may be that Christians today need to look. There have been parallel advances in sciences in the 1960s and the 2010s. There has been critical examination of theology in each decade. And there have been substantive changes in society. All three of these upheavals shout out the need for reconciliation in the church then and especially now. Reconciliation within the church is essential. Reconciliation between the people of the church and God is essential. Those were the goals of the Confession and remain goals today. Reconciliation - that's what the Confession of 1967 is about. The mediations in this book use the education method of critical reflection for the reader to examine one's beliefs and to test their validity. The meditations provide guidance to look beyond the superficial reflection from the mirror and gain new insights into one's paradigm.
