Everything in this book was written at a certain time regarding certain events in life when emotions were strong and could not be said to any living person. Not in those words anyway. So grief and joy and disappointment poured out in a way that I hope resonates with some part of your being or expresses something you find touching a tender place in your heart, a memory you might have that does not fade into forgetfulness, simmering beneath a barrier that can be demolished, or accepted, so that you can move on to cherish today. For me there were too many times when my heart was broken. The reasons were a mystery to me and some revealed only after years and some never fully grasped. Living on, passing through, doing daily things and continuing the pursuit of learning enabled acceptance and the understanding that that was the way it was! One analogy that pushed me through those years of successes and failures was that of a hallway down which I was walking with doors closing, sometimes slamming, as I proceeded through the days of my life, but always with a light shining in the distance until finally one door remained open and life since then has been - yes, has been. Wonderful, challenging, adventurous, sad, discouraging and yet overwhelmingly filled with love and an ability to recognize the grace with which my life is filled.
