Along the Journey
Jerry W Burns
Along the journey of life, I've learned some things. I've been going on the trail a long time now and along the way I've learned the journey is good, exciting and sometimes, glorious. But more often it's been difficult. I have found that I must make the good times myself, save the good memories for the times that are more difficult. When I was just a child, I met a man named Buford, who had no eyes. Buford was a philosopher, a horse whisperer and a great inspiration for a small boy. Buford taught me some of the best lessons for life that I've ever learned. Now that I'm an old man myself, I'm trying to be the best man I can be and share with others some of life's lessons that I learned from Buford and on my own. I started writing years back to know I was not alone. Then when she died, I wrote because I was alone. Now, in the autumn, I write so that my children, grandchildren and friends will know who I am.
