It is a remarkable attribute of David that he always had a song to God in his heart. The people who have a melody in their heart are never able to stay down for very long. Music started in heaven and was created by God, so we know that He loves it. The devil corrupted it, but originally it was meant to be an avenue of worship to God. In Hebrew culture it was Moses who wrote their first worship Psalms. He is the one who brought music back to life for Israel. Many of the Psalms bear his signature. Others were written by Asaph and still others have no known author. But the majority of the Psalms were written by David. For that reason he is called the Sweet Psalmist of Israel. The Psalmist David took the worship of God to a new level as he penned some to the greatest songs of praise that have ever been written. He poured his fears, failures, joys, hopes and more into everything that he wrote. This book is an attempt to help the student of the bible to glean a little more from these glorious songs to God.
