In 28 years of driving he had only been here a handful of times, this out of the way little town in northern Maine. The dispatcher told him there was a single passenger on his Greyhound bus that was making him go far off the normal route. The driver had taken all sorts of people to big cities, shipping ports, even farming towns, but East Greenville? It was just a speck of a town, and a dying one at that. Even the one small hotel had closed. So why did this young man want to go there? He seemed nice enough, polite, well spoken, no luggage though. Just kind of lost. Still, there was something about him. Who was he really, and why here? Nothing good ever came from East Greenville. Little did the driver know that in just a few days he would be delivering another solitary passenger, a very different type of man. And after that, no one in East Greenville would ever be the same.
