Children who face physical or emotional challenges can relate to this story. It's a heartwarming tale about Clumsy Crane who is bullied by the other birds in his flock. This tall bird can't fly as high or as fast as the others because one of his wings is different, so they leave him behind. Clumsy Crane lands ungracefully in Hoppy Hollow disturbing Bizzy Beaver and frightening Timidy Turtle. Since the tall bird doesn't speak or look like anyone else in Hoppy Hollow, they think he might be a monster. Sheriff Teddy Bear and Phantom Frog Super Hero are called to subdue the scary monster but when they arrive they find a lonely and frightened bird. What happens then to Clumsy Crane?Questions are presented in the story to encourage discussions between parent/teacher/mentor and child. This picture book uses 1st - 4th grade vocabulary words for elementary age, and is recommended as a fun Pre-K read-aloud story for children and their adults.
