David Robinson is severely underrated and underappreciated by people outside of San Antonio and by newer Spurs fans. A lot of it has to do with how his teams did before Tim Duncan came along. The Admiral is largely seen as a gifted athlete who had a great career, but also didn't care enough about basketball to have the passion to lead his team to sustained excellence. That criticism is inaccurate because he's the one that set the tone for the Spurs' culture and his impact is still ongoing to this day.
