Captured by Myon Two, Sabre must escape or face endless torture. Sabre is a bone of contention between three Overlords. The Spider Lord finds him innocent, but Ramadaus considers him an abomination, and aids Myon Two in its endeavours to capture him. Sabre, however, has befriended one Overlord, whose life he saved. Overlord Fairen has granted Sabre protection and given him an emergency beacon with which to summon him. He has also forbidden Cybercorp to hunt Sabre, but enforcer factions continue to do so. Cybercorp wants to replicate his fire-resistant qualities in the next generation of cyber hosts, and he is a prototype to be used for demonstrations. When Sabre awakes as a Myon Two prisoner, his beacon is gone. Tassin and Tarl try to find a way off Omega Five, while two young cyber techs try to free Sabre. His salvation, however, may lie with a fourteen-year-old boy who is the most feared Overlord of all. Known as the Wild Child and the Red Death, he commands the most powerful city-ship ever built. He is the Scorpion Lord.
