Seahorse is a member of the Special Humans Investigation Team or "S. H. I. T." He lives and patrols a dying world where millions of half-humans called "waterheads" struggle to survive in the ruins of a decaying city. They are not the only ones struggling, as Freudian's id, ego and super-ego rage inside Seahorse who also struggles to find an identity in a world where there are no more Seahorses, only loneliness, pain, and death. It's a life void of life until a chance encounter brings Amber into Seahorse's life, and with her beautiful eyes and face comes the warmth and feeling that only another's touch can bring. But the warmth and feeling of Amber's love are soon replaced with the reality that behind the physical touch hides rejection, jealousy, loneliness, pain and eventual death, and once again, Seahorse finds he cannot run from the reality of the streets and finds himself living in them, living with the waterheads, but not patrolling, he has gone full circle and become one of them.
