One very dark night, four gang members found a little family in a remote mountain cabin. In a fit of jealousy and greed, they did the unthinkable. They killed the man and the mother, and left two tiny children alone to die. When they realized that the youngest among them was ready to tell the authorities what happened, the three older members of the gang decided to buy a miracle of the darkest type. They paid their blood money and were given a kind of penance to do. In return, they received a type of freedom the lawyers call "reasonable doubt." They had ten years to prove that they were changed men. But these were no choirboys, Don Rico was not a priest in anyone's book, and their tasks were significantly more than a string of Hail Marys. And this is a tragedy of the Greek school, in which these three men were destined to fail.
