1.1 & Gramps: Our Secret Garden is the story of the gardening adventures of a novice grandparent and a novice grandchild. When Gramps' daughter suggested a vegetable garden at her house, Gramps decided that would be a wonderful thing to do, especially if he did it with the participation of his eldest granddaughter. Gramps had his own ideas about how the process, participation, and instruction should go. Gramps' granddaughter had other ideas. The result was a unique interaction between grandfather and granddaughter that produced a special closeness between the two. The book delves into the aspects of gardening, but even more importantly provides insights into the fun that different generations can have with each other.
