Ted and Sally Morris, an active and attractive widow of a successful attorney, go on from a pleasant chat at their randomly assigned dining table to rediscover themselves and each other. Life at Brookstone is full of comedic happenings and humorous interactions. Amid the adventure of their new life in retirement, Ted & Sally end up have many encounters, some steamy (both literally and figuratively) and some not, but all of which lead to rekindling a love long lost.

Rod Lowrey, the author, is no stranger to the setting described in The Elevated Heart. He is a relatively recent newcomer to retirement living in a community much like the one portrayed at Brookstone Manor.
