Follow My Leader (Litwits Sensory Enrichment Guides) Becky Clendenen Kimball 1st edition

Students who engage with a great book in hands-on ways will ?get it? -- and want to read more.
This guide helps teachers bring the 1957 classic Follow My Leader to life with sensory experiences straight from the story.
Whether students are painting the sunrise Jimmy "saw" without using their eyes, decoding Braille and ?Dog Latin? sentences, or just tasting Mrs. Carter?s cookies and lemonade while listening to vintage music, they will deeply connect with the story and gain new respect for the blind.
This full-color guide includes:

• project directions and templates
• prop pictures and suggestions
• discussion prompts and responses
• academic handouts and keys
• activity ideas
• optional workshop agenda with preparation tips

Thanks to the generous assistance of his family, this guide also includes photos and information about James B. Garfield, the extraordinary author of Follow My Leader.
