Tom B. was born into the socially, economically and upwardly mobile middle class. His generation largely knew nothing of suffering and hardship. Tom B., a typical young man in his thirties has everything that life ever promised him: the college degree, the cushy office job, the beautiful wife and the quaint suburban home.
