Safe On Third is an historical thriller that takes place in 1940, set against the backdrop of Nazi Germany?s assault on Western Europe and the presidential campaign in this country that led to Franklin Roosevelt?s election to an unprecedented third term. If Roosevelt is to reach third safely, however, two unlikely heroes must stop a renegade Nazi spy who is determined to kill him. Kirkus Discoveries has described the book as a "meticulous historical novel," in which the physical, cultural and political world of 1940 is "painstakingly" recreated. The review notes that "Zorensky makes good use of historical cameos, too, peppering the text with visits from the likes of Charles Lindbergh, labor leader John L.
