Jim Hoffman, age 70, has had two small strokes. He then discovers he can open a GATE from where he is to other places on the planet or in space or the moon. He wants to avoid entanglement with the Governmen so works with a corporation offering his services as a private contractor. Hoffman begins at NASA, starts a Moon colony, places satelites in orbit and performs other commercial work. He is forced to approach Government agencies through the Director of National Intelligence,. A Team is formed and he opens a Gate to help the FBI rescue a kidnap victim, help the CIA with an agent rescue, and the Army with a rescue from Afghanistan. The priorities of the Government Agencies and the Corporation's colonization and space and moon efforts are at odds. The characters, their conflicts, the Teams missions and the unusual properties of the Gate make this book a fun read. BUY at amazon.com or e-stores
