The Burden of Guilt
Karen Williams
A 34 year old female, police officer named Dee, lives in a town called Brooks County in Georgia. Brooks County is a small town where a change in lifestyle is uncommon. Although, pimps still run the whores on the street, and drug dealers still run the truck stop, they are no match for Dee who thinks she's untouchable, until she realized she was falling for a young white whore downtown. From then her life as an officer came tumbling down especially when the town found out the truth. When Dee thinks things couldn't get worse, the unthinkable happened. This story is about the legacy of insecurity, the burden of guilt, love, lesbian, anxiety, depression, and misguided attempts to control one's life.
