Elements of Piano Technique and Applied Theory is a 12-book comprehensive series (Volumes: 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b, 4c) that covers 44 different elements and spans Late Elementary to Advanced levels. The Complete Book 3 includes all 11 units in Books 3a-3c and covers: Scales and Arpeggios in One Through Four Octaves, The Grand Scale and Inverted Grand Scale Pattern, Four-Octave Chromatic Scales (in Unison, 3rds, 6ths, and 10ths), Major and Minor Scales in 3rds, 6ths, and 10ths, Repeated Notes, Tremolo, Dominant 7th and Diminished 7th Chords/Arpeggios, Major/Minor Diatonic Triads in 1st and 2nd Inversion, Four-Note Chords, and Short Arpeggios and Broken Chords. It can be used as a supplement to any curriculum or in conjunction with any method book series. Each unit contains theoretical discussions of each element, so students understand what they are practicing. Most importantly, in all units there are 5-10 different preparatory exercises which help a student understand how to practice each element. There also are checklists included at the end of the book so students can track progress and set tempo related goals.
