Lady Lavinia fears that her husband, Lord Peter Bramley, will ferret out her secret - she's master and lover of Yasir, a djinni from an ancient urn. An urn Peter gave her, unaware it was enchanted. Since 1816, three years ago when the djinni came back into her life, all has gone smoothly. Yasir is protecting her and the children from his nemesis who is hunting him. Her husband believes the children are his, but one son is Yasir's and has magic, which Peter mustn't see. She is unsure about her toddler daughter. As disasters occur, Lavinia commands Yasir to remedy each one with his magic, until the day he doesn't appear in response to her summons. Searching for her djinni, she happens upon Peter in a meeting of his secret gentleman's club. Shocked at their depravity, she is blindsided as she realizes her husband knows her secret. What Peter has done about it will have dire consequences, more than he knows. Alone and forsaken, Lavinia must separate deceptions from truth in her quest to rescue Yasir and save her children.
