Compared to traditional teaching methods, Dialogue Exchange dramatically increases classroom speaking practice. Dialogue Exchange uses an interactive, fun, student-centred format to teach listening, speaking, reading, writing, and vocabulary to beginners. There are fifteen dialogues and dozens of activities for presenting, practicing, reviewing, and extending each one, plus correction activities--over 600 activities to chose from including pair dictations, jigsaws, dictation relays, LEAs, mingles, discussions, and a wide variety of well-designed games. Each chapter contains a nine-panel comic strip that illustrates the dialogue, plus several worksheets. Most activities have the students speaking in pairs or small groups. Activities begin with controlled practice and progress gradually toward free practice. The content is everyday, survival English, and the goal is communicative competence. Dialogue Exchange contains both instructions for teachers and student worksheets. Worksheets can be photocopied for classroom use.
