Through the crack era the "Kingpin" came into rise. His organization was well organized, oversexed and intently violent-entrenched with satellite relationships of varied values. The politics of the day as well the mantra "There's only one way out," served as a deadly promise to defectors as well to snitches. Reaching the heights of opulent power and the doldrums of physical despair, this is a situation only the reader can place value on. Although violent there is a tapestry of love and understanding that connects the crew that Brisco has designed. Right and wrong are redefined based on the values they all openly adhere to.
