Things are going quite well for Elliot and Razor until someone frames Razor for a rape and murder. All of their friends on the police force turn against them. Razor is convicted and sent to prison for life while Elliot takes over their criminal operation. A few days later, Elliot returns to his office suite and finds a stranger. At the point of Elliot's bodyguard's gun and the threat of death, the stranger states he is Elliot's old friend, Razor. After hours of interrogation, Elliot, still skeptical, must agree the stranger knows too much about Elliot and their lives to be anyone else. The stranger tells Elliot about being in prison and approached by one of the inmates with a proposal to provide Razor with an escape and a fool-proof new identity for twenty-five percent of Razor's Cincinnati operation. Elliot purposely commits a brazen daylight murder with plenty of witnesses, allows the police to arrest him and the court to convict him. This time, Razor has the prison watched and when Elliot escapes, they follow him all the way to a small coastal town in North Carolina.
