Backrooms (2026 film)
Backrooms is the feature film debut from Kane Parsons, the creator behind the viral The Backrooms series on YouTube. The horror film builds upon the popular internet phenomenon of the endless, empty, and unsettling “Backrooms” – a labyrinthine nightmare of sterile rooms, flickering lights, and corridors where the rules of reality seem to have been suspended.
The story begins when a mysterious door suddenly appears in the basement of a furniture warehouse. Behind the door lies an inexplicable world of endless corridors and strange environments, where the line between reality and nightmare quickly blurs.
Kane Parsons translates the distinct analog horror atmosphere from his short films into an atmospheric and claustrophobic horror universe, where dread slowly creeps in rather than relying on traditional jump scares. Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, with Will Soodik behind the screenplay.
