This volume is an interesting exploration of aboriginal American lore, and its overlap with elements of Freemasonry. It is partially a romanticist work, positively comparing the pre-colonial American population with the incoming wave of European diaspora, indicating that the latter is no less "primitive" in some manners.
The entire initiation system of four degrees into the "medicine lodge" (the term lodge being used as a Masonic comparison) is explored, through all of its initiatory rituals and practices.
