A series of grisly murders has struck the CEOs of major companies across America: their bodies having been torn apart and cannibalized. FBI agent Ryan Long is struggling with alcoholism and a broken marriage as he investigates the murders which yield bizarre pieces of evidence. The footprints of a large beast appear near the ravaged bodies of some of the victims and a sacrificial knife and urn have been found at one of the homes of the victims. The CEOs have no connections except for having been to Vienna in the late 1960s and a stranger named Bernar has visited one of the victims the night of his death. As the strange weather patterns and deadly storms begin to engulf the world, Agent Long senses that something strange and epic is happening and seeks the advice of a consultant to the FBI, an expert on the occult who drives the investigation toward ancient Middle eastern legends of the jinn and a ritual that will open a gateway to an ancient world and unleash an ancient warring race.
